THERE ARE RULES TO FOLLOW

Most of these events are sacred.

Please be sure to follow the rules of etiquette for each ceremony and pueblo. The tourism offices of each pueblo will provide you with their rules.

Photography of any kind is usually strictly forbidden, but check with the respective tourism office.

Do not applaud.

Refrain from asking specific questions about the dances, their ceremonial dress etc.

Feast Days are usually held on the date given from year to year unless otherwise specified. It is always a good idea to double check by calling.


JANUARY


1st: Transfer of Canes to New Pueblo Tribal Officials

Call for this year's dates. Annual Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial at Red Rock State Park near Gallup. Parades, rodeo, arts and crafts, dances, food, golf tournament, auctions etc. Parking and admission fees at Red Rock State Park. Santa Fe Indian Market. Each August - Exact Dates to be determined. Usually held during the third weekend in August, on the Santa Fe Plaza. Native American artists and craftspeople from all over North America exhibit their work for juried competitions and purchase.
